Blue is 4 years old, 16 lbs. and is currently located in Lakeland. Blue is a very handsome and loving little boy. He came into FLDR after receiving and emergency call from Animal Control about a Dachshund being hit by a car and in serious condition. So our wonderful volunteers jumped into action. They picked him up and transported him to our Guardian Angels at Veterinary Surgical Specialist in Tampa. Dr. Thomas and her staff were waiting at the door the render immediate care. After an evaluation they discovered his pelvis and left hip were severely fractured. They went straight into surgery and placed screws into his pelvis for stabilization and did and FHO of his left hip. He underwent 2 weeks of crate rest and physical therapy. It has been 3 months of post op care and now he is ready to find his new forever home. He will continue to need caution with running and jumping for the next couple of months but then will be able to continue with a happy and healthy dogs life. Blue is a very mellow and easy going boy. He gets along great with other pups but really prefers being with people. He would make a great companion and friend. He is always happy with a tail wag for everyone he meets. He enjoys being outside exploring and sitting in the sun. Blue would make a wonderful addition to any family. He is such a joy to have around. He is up to date on all his vaccines and has had a dental. He will require a fenced yard and NO CHILDREN under 10 years of age. If you are looking for a special little friend to add to your life “Little Boy Blue” is for you. If you think I am the right dog for you, please fill out an application with my name on it. If you have any questions or concerns you may email my foster family at quita863@earthlink.net. If you are interested in adopting Blue , please fill out an adoption application on our website at: http://fldr.org/adopt/adoption-application/. The adoption fee is $250.

Dudley is 8 years old, 15 lbs. and is currently located in Valrico. Dudley came to FLDR from an elderly couple. One of them ended up in a nursing home and one went to live with their daughter. He was a little confused and took a while to adjust to living with a more active family and other dogs. I feel that he would be happiest in a home as an only dog. He needs to be in a home with NO small children. He seems to be happiest around older teenagers or one-on-one with an adult. Dudley is pretty mellow. He likes to lay in the sun and snuggle up with someone on the couch. He prefers to be walked in the morning to go to the bathroom. He is 100% housebroken and will sometimes be stubborn about going out if he feels it's unnecessary. He'll go when he needs to go! We were told that he likes to play ball, but he will run after it once and that's about it. He has some arthritis in his back, but that's very common. A glucosamine supplement helps with that. He has a lot of love to give and would be so happy to find his forever home. If you feel that Dudley is the dog for you, please fill out an application and put his name on it. Feel free to email me with any questions at lin.spina@earthlink.net. If you are interested in adopting Name, please fill out an adoption application on our website at: http://fldr.org/adopt/adoption-application/. The adoption fee is $175.

Quigley is 12 years old, 13 lbs. and is currently located in Valrico. Quigley came to FLDR due to a death in his family.Quigley is looking for a kind, peaceful home wherer he can live in the company of people who love him. “Quiggs” as we call him , is a mellow peaceful boy. He loves taking long naps in whatever room you’re in (he doesn’t enjoy long separations) and going for walks in the neighborhood. Quiggs had some serious housebreaking issues when he first entered his foster home (we think they were due to his recent neutering and change of scenery). His foster parents have placed him on an easy to follow routine that has had him at 100% success for the past week! Quigley likes the company of other dogs and being with other dogs seems to make him happier. His track record with children and cats is unknown. His overall disposition is mellow and very sweet. Softer food is a must for Quiggs because he has had numerous extractions of his teeth and has few left. A fenced backyard is also a must to keep him house-broken. Quigley is neutered and up-to-date on shots and heartworm preventative. If you think Quigley is the right dog for you contact his foster parents at drooney4@tampabay.rr.com. If you are interested in adopting Name, please fill out an adoption application on our website at: http://fldr.org/adopt/adoption-application/. The adoption fee is $50.

*This is a courtesy posting. FLDR bears no responsibility, present or future, in the adoption of Snoopy. Snoopy is 8-9 years old, 15 lbs. He is a vetted dapple Dachshund who lived a tough life previously in a kennel for breeding. His vocal chords have been cut and a majority of his teeth have been removed except for the 4 canines. Otherwise, he is happy and healthy. After a month of TLC, his personality started to shine and it was realized how much he really loved people and other dogs. He has a fascination for squeaky toys and loves to chase the little lizards outside. He has made friends with some of the neighborhood children as long as they come up slowly and get to know him. His favorite person is the teenage boy that lives next door to him. He loves to wake up in the morning with long snout in your hair or behind your neck and give lots of kisses. He has never met a dog he hasn't loved and warms up to people and definitely needs to find his furever home. If you are interested in adopting Snoopy, please fill out an adoption application on our website at: http://fldr.org/adopt/adoption-application/ and contact his foster home at dawncampbell2013@yahoo.com with any questions. The adoption fee is $100.

Buddy is 8 years old, 9 1/2 lbs., currently located in Orlando. I am a very sweet, lovable Doxie. I love to cuddle and and get lots of attention. Foster mom says I am a velcro dog. I am housetrained, up to date on my vaccinations and just lost 16 teeth in a dental. But I can eat just fine. I have a low grade heart murmur that is not causing me any issues. I need a fenced in yard because I love to run freely around the yard and roll on my back. I get along well with other dogs and would like at least one other small dog to play with. If you think I am the right dog for you, please fill out an adoption application on the website at http://fldr.org/adopt/adoption-application/. My adoption fee is $175.

Maggie Mae is 3 years old, 15 lbs. and currently located in Riverview, FL. I'm Maggie Mae. My foster dad just calls me Maggie. I am a Doxie-Jack Russel Terrier. I have had all my shots and I'm also heart worm free. I am very nervous when you first meet me. It takes me about 1 or 2 days to warm up to someone I don't know. But after I get to know that I won't be harmed and learn to trust you, I am the most loving and playful girl you have ever seen. I need to be adopted in a home that has only 1 or 2 people and a fenced in yard that I can run in. I love it outdoors. Foster dad thinks that I am anxious because I was previously abused. Probably yelled at a lot or maybe even hit and that's why it takes me a while to warm up to someone I don't know. I love to play with my toys and stay beside you on the couch as long as you want. All I need is a lot of love and attention and I will your best friend. If you need any more information and you can reach foster dad at 813-672-6301. Her adoption fee is $200. If you are interested in adopting Maggie, please fill out an adoption application on the website at fldr.org/adopt/adoption-application/ and contact my foster pop at stbeachrr@yahoo.com with questions.

Robbie is 4 years old, weighs 10 lbs. and is currently in Lakeland, FL. This poor little boy came to FLDR as a confiscation from a cruelty case. He was down in the back, underweight, hair missing on his back and legs and his tail was cut off. After getting the call we immediately picked him up and sent him to our angels at Veterinary Surgical Specialists. His surgery took longer than usual because his spinal disc was severely damaged and they were able to save his life. He has been in rehab for about 4 months but still walks with a bit of a wobble. The hope is he will continue to improve as has been shown in our past experiences with similar cases. He is an inspiration to us all for never having complained or given up with all he’s been through. How sad for such a wonderful little boy who is so full of love and life to have been treated so horribly. Robbie is now ready for his furever home. He’s loving, playful and very handsome. He loves playing with soft squeaky toys and often looks like E.T. when he piles them all in his bed and crawls underneath with just his head sticking out. He’s so cute! He loves being with humans and keeping them company. He loves to cuddle and get nose kisses. Although he still gets a little nervous at being picked up and will grab onto your arm for security. I believe he’s been dropped or thrown to the ground at some point in his life. He enjoys being outside exploring the yard or just sitting in the sun. He’s very obedient, is smart and learns quickly. Please give Robbie consideration for adoption. His issues are not his fault. He was very cruelly abused and lives everyday with the lasting effects. He has a very big heart with lots of love to give. He would make a wonderful companion and friend. All he wants is to be cared for and loved by someone special who can open their heart and give him a chance at the life he should have had. Unfortunately because of his mistreatment he has suffered some damage to his bladder and only has partial control of his urine because he can only hold it about 1 1/2 hrs. God love him, he tries with all he has to make it outside. He is however, used to wearing belly bands in case of accidents. His adoption fee is $150. If you are interested in adopting Robbie, please fill out an adoption application on the website at http://fldr.org/adopt/adoption-application/ and contact my foster mom at quita863@earthlink.net with questions.

Mogli is 6-7 years old, weighs 22 lbs. and currently in Myakka City, FL. He is smart as a whip! He likes other dogs, people…just about everyone! He would be a great farm dog. He loves to ride on the mower with foster mom. He won’t run off & comes when you call him. Mogli has chronic dry eye & has to have his eye medications put in every few hours. So he needs someone who is home of the time and will be devoted to caring for him. This is a lifetime condition that cannot be cured, just managed. He doesn’t mind getting his eye medications & will jump up on a low table for foster mom to put the drops in. Mogli is up to date on his vaccinations, heartworm negative & ready to find a new forever home. His adoption fee is $200.
