Hello everyone!!! My name is Max, I am a red, smooth, 7 year old, potty trained, All American Doxie, who is looking for a forever home.  I’m currently 15 pounds ( I used to be 22) and feeling great.  FLDR rescued me from a not so nice home, can you believe in 6 years I never went on a walk,  never had a dog bed, treats or played with toys!!??  But guess what!!! I love walks now, I’m trained on a harness/leash, I love snuggling in lots of blankets in my dog bed and I even have a stuff cow I carry around with me!  I’m a very happy, loyal, animal/human loving, cuddling…. Critter.. and the best part is, I can be yours!!!!!

My history:

I was the only dog from a “not so nice” home, I had some anger issues and food was my only happiness (I never played outside or went on walks), that’s why I was very overweight and didn’t move too much.  I worked with a trainer on the whole leash thing and continue everyday to work on my food aggression when my food is around, I still eat my food very fast… but don’t snarl when I eat anymore!! I’m learning and its amazing what trust and love with a human can do!!!  Just so you know,  I’m the best dog in the house (My foster mom tells me that because I don’t have accidents in the house, like those other weenie dogs I live with). Medically I’m  healthy, I did have Heart Worms (cuz, my last owner didn’t give me preventives), but have been on Heart Guard every month (and will continue) and it will be gone very, very shortly. I have lost weight so my back is in great shape and I’m full of energy!

• Walks outside
• Cuddling in blankets on the couch, on the floor.. anywhere!
• I’m crate trained, so my little “cave”
• Carrots- Healthy snacks please!!!
• Basking in the sun (ooh I love this!!!)
• Curling up on my humans lap or sitting next to them- I love humans! Anyone that comes in the house I will follow them around and sit next to them for “pets”
• Playing chase (chase me around the dining table, its fun!!) with dogs or humans!
• My stuff cow or stuff animals

Other things..

• Potty trained (I will sit next to the door when I need to go out)
• I’m great with humans and other dogs but have not been exposed to little kids (under 6)
• Once in a great while I snarl, please ignore me when I do this. I was abused so sometimes I think I’m getting hit, but I’m not anymore!!  so this is going away every month….. Love is all I need
• My foster mom says I deserve to be the only dog so I’m cuddled every night and have attention because that is what life is about, but I love animals too and would be happy in  a safe loving home
• I hang out all day and just chill on my blankets when my foster parents are working- I don’t cause a racket and when you come home, I’m very excited. I adjust easy with any schedule
• I bark when the door bell rings and when I’m outside and see birds
• When outside I have to be on a leash or I will run in the street
• I come with a supply of Heart Guard- Please give this to me every month
